My wife and I have flown kites off and on since the ages of 5 and 6. My wife's first kite was a Jolly Green Giant kite that was being given away at a grocery store as a promotion.  My first kites were always homemade ones made with newspaper and sticks and bailing twine for the kite line.  Being both farm kids, we had lots of open spaces to fly.  As we grew older, flying kites was not high on our list of things to do.

About 17 years ago we started to fly again and realized that the same joy and excitement we felt as kids with our little kites was still there. At that time, when we got back into flying, we flew single line kites and then about 11 years ago we got into dual line and quad line flying and we are still having the time of our lives feeling that thrill of a kite at the end of a line, no matter if it has one line, two lines or four lines and we've been hooked ever since.

Our combined retail management experience of over 30 years, our work with many new fliers, and our love of flying led to the start of Midwest Kites. Being from the Midwest we thought Midwest Kites to be a very appropriate name.

One of the many advantages of living where we do is that we are centrally located and the turn around time between placing your order and receiving your order will be quite quick.
